To watch a good movie always makes
me happy… thanks to Giordana for this stirring and beautiful experience…
“The Best of the Youth” is definitely unique and unforgettable.
During 6 hours and even later, I felt like I was a member of Carati
family…born in Rome…having two brothers and two sisters…
Nicola and Matteo are ordinary
people in their own extraordinary ways. Two brothers are looking like having
some similar lives at 60s. However, they follow different paths in life. Bonded
by blood but divided by politics…
One day, Matteo meets with a girl named Giorgia. She started her life in a very
different way than Carati family members. Maybe she is unlucky from the
beginning. Both of the brothers fall in love with Giorgia. She cannot take that
love and this changed their life. During the movie, Giorgia stays at a certain
place, she witnesses the history of a family…Somehow, I have great sympathy
to her. Although she doesn’t reveal it so often, I feel like she knows far too
much. Maybe that was her problem that she doesn’t want to go and be a part of
real life.
Is Matteo a lost soul? Is Nicola
wrong about letting the beloved ones to do whatever they choose? Maybe when we
learn how to express ourselves in a different way, we will not lose our
loved ones. Or maybe it is just fate, we can’t help losing them.
This movie made me to laugh, to cry,
to think, to question and last but not least to see life in the way it is: life
is beautiful with its imperfections and imperfect people…
…there is a house in New
Orleans… they call the Rising Sun…
